Osteoporosis

Osteoporosis causes a decrease in bone mass, weaker bones and a higher risk of bone fracture. We are pleased to have a DEXA machine, considered the most accurate scan for testing bone density. Standard x-rays show changes in bone density after about a 40% bone loss, but a DEXA scan can detect changes after about a 1% change. Screening for early signs of bone loss will allow you to take appropriate steps to preserve bone mass.

DEXA Bone Density Testing - A DEXA scan lasts about 10 minutes and exposes the patient to less radiation than a standard chest x-ray.
