Women's Health

High Risk Antepartum

The Women's Health Center includes the Peggy V. Helmerich High Risk Antepartum unit where women, who must spend part of their pregnancy on bedrest, can receive special prenatal health care during pregnancy. The High Risk Antepartum unit offers centralized fetal heart monitoring. Each mother is cared for to meet her unique needs during her pregnancy.

TeamBirth

What is TeamBirth?

TeamBirth is a way to increase communication between you and your support person, physician, nurse and any additional members of the healthcare team. The goal of TeamBirth is for all patients to have a safe and dignified birth experience.

Robotic Surgery

We are pleased to offer the da Vinci robotic surgical system as an advanced option to help treat gynecological problems and malignancies. With this minimally invasive surgical and robotic technology, surgeons operate through a few small incisions and view the patient through a magnified 3D high-definition vision system.  The important thing to note is that the surgeon is in control of the da Vinci system, which allows for greater control and preciseness.

Gentle C-Section

Any woman who has experienced a traditional cesarean section can tell you that the surgical procedure distracts from the celebration of bringing new life into the world. Oftentimes, mother and baby are separated directly after the birth. This time is essential for the health of the baby and for bonding between mother and child.

Medical Oncology

Over 80,000 times per year, a woman in the United States is diagnosed with a gynecologic cancer, and about 26,000 women will die this year as a result. Gynecologic Oncology is a medical specialty that deals with the study and treatment of malignancies arising in the female reproductive tract. Ovary, endometrium, cervix, vulva and vagina are where the most common and serious gynecological malignancies occur.

Neonatal Intensive Care

A special part of the Peggy V. Helmerich Women's Health Center @ Hillcrest is the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Infants hospitalized in the NICU often have complications of prematurity and health challenges from birth.
